ATI's CATALYST A.I, which optimises drivers for certain popular games without impacting on image quality, has made significant inroads into GeForce 6800 Ultra's lead. However, the performance gap at 1600x1200x32 is significant.

The performance gap between the ASUS card and an 'X850 XT PE hovers at around the 10% mark at the tested resolutions, once AA and AF are taken into consideration. The 6800 Ultra is still top dog for id's DOOM 3.
