Temperature, noise and power

Nvidia has historically held the upper hand with respect to temperature, noise and power consumption. We've already proved that both rival cards produce similar frame rates, but the EVGA is ahead on all three counts here.

Of most interest is the noise reading, which is very quiet under load. Anything below 40dB is good; below 37dB is excellent. The EVGA's twin spinners operate at 1,300rpm at full chat.

The Ultra Silent isn't the quietest high-end card we've ever tested, but it's close enough to the benchmark. If you want a quiet gaming system then EVGA's card does make implicit sense.
