The Sapphire ATOMIC Radeon HD 3870 runs up to 10 per cent faster than a reference-clocked model. What's more telling is that it's significantly slower than both the GeForce 8800 GT and GTS 512MiBs, however. The average frame rate is only a concern at a card-busting 2,560x1,600.

CrossFire performance is almost double that of a single card's, and that's always nice to see.
