Overclocking

Normally I overclock anything and everything! I am a mad power freak (who isn't these days?!) but I've read around and I've heard that there isn't much point in overclocking this card as it doesn't improve performance much at all. If I had more time I would tweak the card more but here's what I have noted and tested so far:

There is a small flaw with overclocking this card and this is due to it having two "processors" as one may be more overclockable than the other. So, seeing as they are linked in a synchronous manner, the poorer one would hold back the 'better' chip. After looking around though, I found a way to overclock the card:

1. Download the V5 overclocking utility
2. An overclocking tab will now appear in your "Advanced settings" tab under display properties.

This is also the only way to enable or disable V-Sync too, so make sure to get this add-on even if you are not going to overclock. I couldn't push the card at all anyway, so hey - that idea about overclockin' to the max has gone! :P

There is a bit of a heat issue with this board and a slightly annoying factor is the point that the HSF's are *glued* to the chips and can't be replaced easily. Thermal tape would have been a bit more efficient I think. Thermal compound would be even better! :)

I had no problems running this video card on my Abit KA7 Athlon Motherboard at all. However, I've heard about issues with FSB's greater than 133MHz on Intel BX chipset based Motherboards but this is understandable really as the AGP divider at 2/3rds of the FSB would equal an 89MHz AGP bus speed at 133MHz FSB and that 89MHz AGP bus is much higher than the standard 66MHz.
