Total War: Warhammer
What do you get when you combine the addictive turn-based strategy of Total War with the monsters, warriors and heroes of Games Workshop's Warhammer? The answer is all sorts of fun, and for fans of either series, Total War: Warhammer is a must-have title.
Total War: Warhammer is a good example of how multi-GPU configurations can frustrate. The game clearly benefits from a second RX 580, but you wouldn't know it at first glance as there's no in-game option to enable CrossFire. We had to modify a string in a text file buried in the installation folder in order to enable multi-GPU support, and after doing so performance almost doubles at the 4K resolution.
Getting CrossFire up and running in this game wasn't easy. If you're facing similar woes, here's the fix that worked for us in Windows 10: Search for %appdata% then go to \The Creative Assembly\Warhammer\scripts. Locate and open the file named preferences.script.txt, search for the line gfx_dx12_multi_gpu false; and change it to gfx_dx12_multi_gpu true; Save and close the file and multi-GPU support in DX12 should now be enabled.
