We start with a series of single- and multi-threaded CPU benchmarks, and it's no surprise to find that the 3.3/3.7GHz Core i7-5775C is being out-gunned by the 4.0/4.4GHz Core i7-4790K. The gap, however, isn't as big as we'd feared, and a combination of architectural enhancements and, perhaps, the addition of an eDRAM cache ensure that the Broadwell chip is able to keep within 5 per cent of Haswell in the multi-threaded workloads. Not bad for a 65W part.
