HandBrake is used to encode a full-HD video clip to a smaller format suitable for mobile devices. The test is a good indication of everyday multimedia workloads, and the 35W mobile APU puts in a decent showing. AMD's Kaveri architecture continues to look potent in contrast to Richland, though it isn't as impressive on the CPU front as rival Intel parts. The FX-7600P returns 15 per cent greater performance than the Core i5-4250U in this benchmark but that speed advantage comes at the expense of a 133 per cent higher TDP.

LuxMark is an OpenCL test that utilises both the CPU and GPU components of all the chips on show. This should be the APU's strong point, but the Core i5-4250U with integrated HD 5000 graphics once again holds its own.

Musemage makes good use of the available onboard GPUs to accelerate image editing and apply various filters/effects. This test provides a first glimpse at the potency of the FX-7600P's Radeon R7 graphics: 512 shaders clocked at 686MHz is handy indeed.
