Benchmarks: Single- and multi-core
Single-threaded performance is Intel's domain. The Core i7-4770R lives up to its premium name by benchmarking in second place. All Intel chips are good in this test, however, and there's little between a Core i3 and Core i7.
Separating the wheat from the chaff requires applications that take advantage of all cores and threads. Core i7-4770R is able to harness eight threads running at a maximum of 3.5GHz, compared to 3.7GHz for the full-on desktop Core i7-4770K. These two processors are way faster than anything else in our lineup.
Eight Haswell-architecture threads wrapped inside a 65W TDP make for very fast processing, but the application footprint is too small to take advantage of the 128MB of 'L4' eDRAM cache.
