AMD continues to play second to Intel in terms of single-threaded CPU performance. There's some catching up to do, but the A10-6700 compares favourably to the incumbent A10-5700 and is only fractionally slower than top-of-the-line A10-6800K.

It takes a quad-core AMD A10 to match a dual-core Intel Core i3. Having refined the Richland design, AMD is ultimately able to offer the performance of the 100W A10-5800K in a 65W A10-6700 package.

Richland is barely an upgrade over Trinity as far as underlying architecture is concerned, but the clock-speed increase does make a noticeable difference. Multi-threaded CPU performance is comparable to the Intel Core i3 chip.
