Gaming with a GTX 680 graphics card
The following graphs illustrate performance with a discrete GeForce GTX 680.
Looking at gaming performance with such a high-end card enables us to see, indirectly at least, what contribution the CPU makes. It's of no surprise to see the A10-5700 at the bottom, though the overall score is within 10 per cent of the Core i3-3225.
Analysis: this is a GPU-bound test.
A10-5700's CPU performance isn't ideally suited to powering fast, expensive video cards; you'd need a chip with more oomph behind it for that purpose - Intel's Core i5s being particularly good at this task. To be fair to AMD, our games are perfectly playable with this deliberately unbalanced setup.
