Comanche 4, UT2003

We are subsystem limited in Comanche 4 with an R9700 Pro so it loves all the system bandwidth it can get. Here's the graph.

As expected but 50fps+ in Comanche4 when running something like a Ti4600 or R9700 Pro means you have some serious horsepower under the hood. Ignoring the P4 result for a second, this is exciting output from a Socket A system. A mini milestone for the chipset and the CPU. Bandwidth counts.

UT2003 next, a new benchmark for me. It's the flyby section of the result rather than the Bot Match section.

The R9700 in both systems keeps the results close and the new found performance from the increased front side bus and the nForce2 chipset in the AMD system keeps things ticking over very nicely indeed.

Gaming performance on the AMD rig was absolutely outstanding as expected given nForce2, the new CPU and the fastest consumer graphics card that money can buy. But gaming performance isn't the whole story (for me anyway) so lets take a look at some other types of test to see if the new speed shows up elsewhere.
