Benchmarks III

How do our protagonists fare in games-based benchmarking. We'll head over to 3DMark 2001SE to find out. Remember that the Athlon is at a FSB of 170MHz. Benchmarked at the native resolution of 1024x768x32.

Just look at how close the enhanced XP2600 and stock 2.8GHz P4's default benchmark scores are. They're nigh-on identical. The extra muscle that another 500MHz provides to the P4 sees it crash through the 13,000 mark barrier with ease. To see just how similar the XP and P4 2.8GHz scores were, have a look at the compare URLs.

You could throw a blanket over them. If you want to compare your score against the Pentium 4 running at 3.3GHz and a non-overclocked or tweaked GeForce 4 Ti 4600, head over here.
