Review: Intel Core i7 3960X Extreme Edition CPU

Benchmarks - multi-threaded

Not much to choose between the two top CPUs in these heavily multi-threaded tests.

But Sandy Bridge, and the Core i7 3960X in particular, is quick in CINEBENCH. It's the first time that a stock-clocked chip has broken the magical '10' barrier, too.

And the underpinning Sandy Bridge microarchitecture shows its worth in the encryption/decryption test.
