CPU-centric benchmarks - light load
OK, we have the four Intel Core i5 2500 chips highlighted in different colours, making them simpler to pick out from the 19-processor line-up.
Remember, too, that the quartet weighs in at about the same price - Ā£150 - and it's the performance vs. power-efficiency angle we're interested in.
Overall frequency is unimportant in the memory-bandwidth test. The four 2500-series chips do really well here.
Core i5 2500K, 2500 and 2500S can all Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz when placed under light load, and this is why their HEXUS.PiFast times are so similar. Meanwhile, the 2500T can run up to 3.3GHz, which is actually fast enough to take fourth place.
Intel second-generation Core processors continue to run pretty quickly in light-load situations. No complaints about any of the performances here.
