Putting on the hurt
Thrash all the cores and the APU closes in on the CPU-only X4 975 BE and X4 980 BE chips. The gain's more about frequency than bus speed.
And while extra frequency obviously helps, it won't turn the Ā£100 A8-3850 into a genuine premium CPU. But that's probably not the point, is it?
Bus speed does nothing to enhance performance in the final two multi-threaded tests. AMD's A8-3850 is never be a 'great' CPU, no matter how highly it's clocked, but overclocking should give you an extra 15-20 per cent performance (over a default-clocked chip) without too much hassle.
