Gaming, plus power-draw
Our favourite gaming test shows that, for most titles, the brand of the underlying quad-core CPU is irrelevant. We could engineer a situation where there's performance deviation - running Civilization V or Call of Duty: Black Ops, for example - but feel that this boring graph is rather more indicative of the performance you'll expect to receive when playing at GPU-limited settings.
However, moving forward, we'll be including both above-mentioned titles in forthcoming CPU reviews, just for completeness.
Power-draw
AMD's AM3 platform is power-frugal when evaluated against Intel's watt-sucking X58.
Under-load power-draw isn't too bad, either, coming in comfortably below Intel's premier platform.
