Performance conclusion
After checking out the benchmarks we can see quite clearly that the XP1800 is close to a perfect match for the 2Ghz Intel processor in our benchmarks. It gives no quarter to the other CPU and matches or equals it in the majority of the benchmarks. Maybe AMD should have called the CPU XP2000+ to sell a few more! But since we know that the rating is comparable to a Thunderbird core processor we'll let AMD off with the name.We'd go so far as to crown the XP1800+ as the quickest commercial x86 32-bit processor available to consumers at the present time. Sure you can go quicker with overclocking but out of the box performance is what counts here and the XP1800+ has it in spades. You will find NO quicker CPU on the market today.
