The real reason why one would consider this chip is for the IGP, which is not present on, say, the Ryzen 7 5800X.
Remember that AMD uses the same RX Vega technology here as on the Ryzen 5 3400G. Using fewer cores at a higher speed, together with a much more potent CPU, gives the Ryzen 7 5700G class-leading IGP gaming potential.
If you're willing to sacrifice image quality, framerate can be decent.
