Power Consumption

Core i9-11900K still needs some platform-level optimisations. We say this because the idle power consumption is 8W higher than on a Core i9-10900K run on exactly the same board.

Remember all the talk about super-high power budgets for running the chip in an unencumbered state? This is what happens with TVB and ABT fully active. The CPU alone pulls a peak 270W in this elevated state. Ay, caramba!

The knock-on effect is high-ish power draw when gaming.
