So far, the two 3rd Gen Threadrippers do an excellent job at gaming, offering the same kind of performance as the Ryzen 9 3950X.

We chose Far Cry 5 New Dawn because it is one title where having over 18 cores causes scheduling problems, leading to performance tanking and being unpredictable. It's an Ubisoft problem, more than AMD's, and in the few cases where having massive core counts hurts performance, AMD retains the Game Mode option.
