The first blue line in each graph denotes the best-in-class HEDT performance before these new Threadrippers marched on to the scene.

Ryzen 9 3950X is hardly slow when compared to a bevvy of consumer CPUs, but it looks positively underpowered in the Threadripper context.

As expected, the TR 3970X is getting on to being twice as fast when the load is huge.

Overall, our benchmarks reveal that the 3960X averages 3.942GHz across multi-core benchmarks while the 3970X hums along at 3.875GHz.
