Keeping it simple, we increased the all-core frequency in conjunction with voltage at 1.4V. The upshot? A stable 4.35GHz across 16 threads.
That's about 100MHz higher than the sample Ryzen 7 3700X using the same methodology, which reinforces the belief that AMD bins the 3800X a bit better, thus helping explain the price premium.
