Benchmarks: Gaming I
We're using a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU that puts more of the onus on the subsystem at lower resolutions. Also, we are now benchmarking at both 1080p and 4K.
F1 shows that Ryzen 2000-series does indeed improve the subsystem grunt at 1080p over the previous generation. It still falls short of the latest Core i5 and Core i7 performance. The bottom line is that performance at 1080p is good. At 4K, meanwhile, it's practically identical.
Far Cry 5, a new addition, shows a bigger lead for Core i5 and Core i7 at 1080p. We had expected Ryzen 7 2700X to be closer. As noted earlier, that leads evaporates at 4K.
