Intel bombs ahead in the light-load tests because of its higher peak speed and better IPC. AMD hits back in the all-core test when we compare the Core i3-8350K against the Ryzen 5 2400G. At the lower end of the market, the Core i3-8100 is about 10 per cent speedier than the same-core, same-thread Ryzen 3 2200G.
