Power Consumption
Equipped with a 165W TDP that may seem scary at first glance, under-load power consumption is actually restrained at stock speeds. It seems strange to think that a decent 400W PSU can power the X299 platform and a GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card.
Remember we said that Blender introduces more load because it scales better than HandBrake? Even then, power consumption rises to only 269W. Our logs also show that a Noctua NH-D15S heatsink, equipped with a single fan, can keep the processor at no more than 65°C under load. Strong, stable performance.
