Taking a look from the side

The DX comes in four variants, with the model number telling you if it's black or silver and whether or not a window is pre-fitted.

Our review sample carried the model number VE7000SWA, where the letters S & W stand for silver and window. And, silver on our sample meant there was a high-gloss finish on all the panels.

The case is a pretty tidy affair from the outside and reasonably compact. At 497(d) x 210(w) x 478(h) mm, it's a little smaller than the Gigabyte Triton 180 we recently reviewed.

The large side window has a mesh-covered hole with no fan and this sits above the CPU. Thermaltake logos and slogan are moulded into the clear plastic towards the bottom.

The side panel has its own lock on the top latch and this holds the panel in place using a latch-point on the chassis. While it's good to have a window, we're not so sure about the size – it's massive.

With the panel removed, you get an overview of the gleaming – and rather well-finished - all-aluminium interior.
