Up front and personal

Although the Soprano has been around for quite a while, two new variants have been released recently.

One is the DX that we're looking at today. This has a large side window and a two-piece front door.

The other is the VX – a model with no door and no window.

We were intrigued to find out was how much performance and buyer-appeal had been enhanced by the new features offered by the DX.

The DX has an all-aluminium front door that's split into two to form a multi-curved face. Set within the curve of the door and running left-to-right is a bubble tube - an LED array with bubbles set in plastic to give off a varied light appearance.

The door has a plastic frame and opens only one way - right-to-left. We weren't overly impressed with the finish of the door. It appears to have been brushed with coarse wire-wool. In our opinion, a smooth finish would have looked better. However, such things are largely a matter of personal preference.
