Modular thoughts

Talking of modular bays, the ones that come in the 900 series are a little too fiddly for our liking, there are two screw holes that allow you to fit the usual four screws to your storage devices, but these secure against the inner wall of the module, so a small, accurate screwdriver is required.

Seeing as there are no fan filters in the 900, it’s important to look after the fans to avoid major dust accumulation happening. Good, then, that you only need to slide the module out a short way and unscrew the faceplates to get access to the fans themselves.

The 900 ships with a 3.5” caddy should you wish to use it, and handily it can be used separately from the 3.5” face plate that's also included. So that’s seven potential hard drives that the 900 can accommodate, or 3.5 terabytes based on 500GB HDDs, impressive stuff.
