Well, you need a screwdriver to get the side panel off, but at least the 5.25” bays provide tool-free access. Then again, this is rendered pointless by the fact the HDD caddy, which slides out to allow you to mount up to five 3.5” drives, requires two screws to be removed to do so.

Then there are the drives themselves, requiring the included screws to be used to hold the drive in place on the rubber grommets.

As mentioned previously, due to the main structure of the chassis, the whole modular capability of the '280 chassis is pretty limited, and it’s not made any better by the fact that there is no front fan included as standard – we have no doubt it will negatively affect the thermals during use.
