The Case

Nowadays us serious overclockers are always fighting a battle, trying to keep our hardware as cool as possible thus allowing that extra little bit of tweaking.....Generally this has been done by putting in a couple of 80mm case fans, one exhaust and inlet, this keeps the case at a relative safe temperature but never gets the system temperature to that of the room ambient temperature. Well the lads at Overclockers.co.uk have let me have one of their Coolercase "Extreme-XS" to check out...Here's a picture of the beast.

What they have done is to take a Globalwin 802 case and modify it by fitting< 4 x YS-TECH FD1225 120mm and 2 x YS-TECH FD8125 80mm fans pushing a huge 514 CFM in Total. The coolercase is also fitted with a Enermax EG451P 431W ATX power supply unit. Right then lets start of with the case itself. The Globalwin802 Case

Global Win 802 Specs
  • Supports Extended ATX Form Factor motherboards
  • Swappable Single or Double rows face plate for 3.5" devices
  • Side Opening Panels & Slide-Out motherboard drawer.
  • 3 x 5.25" bays, 2 x 3.5" bays
  • 5 x Hard drive bays
  • Front fan filter
  • Screwless design
  • All screws and face plates included
  • 7 Expansion Slots
  • 18" tall, 19.75" deep, 7.7" wide
I feel that this case has been designed with us overclockers in mind, it features what I would call a 'No-need for tools' design, all the covers, hard drive bays and motherboard tray are all secured by Thumbscrews which allows for quick and easy access. The motherboard and expansion cards mount on a removable tray which is pretty nifty.
