The news
Fujitsu Siemens is starting to move its SCALEO-family digital-entertainment PCs over to Windows Vista, beginning with the small-form-factor EV and mini-tower H line-ups.
VAT-inclusive prices for the SCALEO EV start at £799. This buys an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, integrated Intel Viiv technology, Vista Home Premium and what's claimed to be an even quieter running - thanks to improvements to the housing and cooling system
Other key features for the EV are said to include:
* Store video, music, data
and TV on the internal hard drive, or record it on DVD with double
layer DVD±R/RW drive
* Watch TV as you like: the digital video recorder (PVR) let you pause, record and replay from TV
* Watch movies on DVD or listen to your CDs with the built-in CD-/ DVD player in Intel High Definition Audio with 7.1 surround sound
* Integrated cardreader

SCALEO H models start at £599 and their larger system cases offer more flexibility, with options for an extra hard disk drive and a second DVD burner or reader. There's also the choice of Intel or AMD processors.
As with the EV, WiFi and wired networking come as standard, as does FireWire.
