Security savings

Internet security specialist McAfee has notified HEXUS that it's offering its two main security software products for half price right now.

With the Conficker worm ensuring security remains near the top of the PC user's agenda, it's always useful to be aware of any deals while looking to protect yourself.

Here are links to find out more about the deals on McAfee Internet Security 2009 and on McAfee Total Protection 2009.

A good saving…. McAfee products were horrendous the last time I used them though, and ineffective in the reviews I read…. anything changed?

anything changed?

Nope - not as far as I can see. McAfee suite was pre-installed on my netbook, it's just as crap and annoying as ever!
I use it, I'm honestly quite impressed with it - me and my family use it on 2 PC's and 3 laptops.

There was a review I read on their new heuristics engine (new as in end of 2008) - it got a very good result.
Why bother paying for McAfee when you can get Avira for free with much better detection rates and ALOT less memory usage ?
why would you pay for mcafee when you can get Avast for free and get kaspersky for alot cheaper than mcafee from scan?

btw i can get mcafee freee from my bank (hsbc) and norton free from BT
yet i pay for kaspersky because its provides the best protection and works well on my computers.
