Yesterday it was Google Desktop v2, today there's a buzz about the possibility of a Google IM service being launched as early as tomorrow.
The LA Times cites sources 'familiar with the service' claiming that Google plans to launch Google Talk. Furthermore, it won't just be text based, allowing voice conversations to take place, lining it up against both popular IM and VoIP services.
Various people have already done a bit of probing of talk.google.com . Firstly, the redirect error that occurs doesn't happen for [random].google.com, and a bit of telnetting revealed a server response suggesting that Google Talk will be running the open Jabber IM protocol.
Another busy week for Google? We'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
