AMD's ATI Radeon HD 4890 (EU and US)

Here's how Radeon HD 4890 availability and pricing is shaping up a week after launch in Europe:

Euro Market

alternate.de HIS Radeon HD 4890 In stock €234.90 €224.90
HIS Radeon HD 4890 Turbo In stock €249.90 €247.90
MSI Radeon HD 4890 OC In stock €254.00 €254.00

  GIGABYTE Radeon HD 4890 Pre-order €234.90 €234.90

Still plenty of stock, and as with the UK, there are a number of price drops. We don't see any cards dip under the €200 mark, but a selection are now priced closer to €220.

US Market

etailerProductAvailability Price at launch (exc. localised charges ) Current Price (exc. localised charges )
newegg.com XFX Radeon HD 4890 In stock $249.99 $249.99
ASUS Radeon HD 4890 In stock $259.99 $259.99
HIS Radeon HD 4890 In stock $249.99 $249.99
XFX Radeon HD 4890 XT In stock $264.99 $264.99
Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 In stock $249.99 $249.99
Diamond Radeon HD 4890 In stock $249.99 $249.99
PowerColor Radeon HD 4890 In stock $249.99 $249.99

No immediate change for US customers, with cards still readily available and pricing seemingly unchanged. Look at a little closer, however, and you'll notice that NewEgg.com is now offering a $20 mail-in rebate on all of the above products, effectively shaving $20 off the price tag. That, then, brings US pricing down to $229.99.

With no shortage of stock, falling prices and impressive performance, the AMD ATI Radeon HD 4890 isn't looking a bad prospect at all. So how about NVIDIA? Let's take a look on pages three and four.
