The folks at QuietPC, suppliers of quiet cooling, drives, cases and more, will soon have stock of Zalman's latest heatsink for AM2 processors.

We could tell you about the CNPS9500-AM2's 92mm translucent fan that glows green during operation. We could tell you that it supports socket 939 and 754 as well as AMD's new socket AM2, or that it's designed for maximum cooling efficiency with minimal noise...

Forget all that though. The bottom line is, in true Zalman style, it's large and has a hell of a lot of fins. You can be sure it'll be quiet, and that it'll do a decent cooling job at the same time, provided you don't drop it on your foot, as by the size of it, it could do you some damage.

Big HSF

You might notice the green sticker on the fan. That is indeed the NVIDIA logo. We've been informed that the HSF is recommended by NVIDIA.

We'll be bringing you more AM2 reviews in due course, and this cooler will be involved in at least some, so keep an eye out for what we think of it.

Always liked that design of cooler - are there any available for socket A still? :(
It wouldn't surprise me if QuietPC still had something that would mount on Socket A.
The CNPS9500-AT ran crap on my Pentium D 920, though might be just dodgy IHS on my proc
Looks a bit odd if you ask me. I'm partial to the copper colour, and the green LED is horrific. I'm really glad to see the adoption of 4-pin fans throughout though; it'll lead to much better control of fan speeds. The pulsing with one of my fans as it hovers around the speed my BIOS tells it to rev up and down at really grates.

Anyone know anything about the release date of the CNPS9700 - the 110mm fan version of this? Should be the mutts nutts.
GREAT! Now we have nVIDIA recommended heatsinks……………..
