Zalman's Reserator turned the established designs for PC watercooling on their head, at least in terms of hardware being shipped by the larger vendors playing in that space. Using a tall, multi-finned heat exchanger and pump combo meant the Reserator was damn near silent and had great heat capacity.
I thought it rocked when I reviewed it and I still feel the same today. However, owners soon found out that the unit retained enough heat over time to make it necessary to add a quiet fan blowing over the fins.
While the Reserator was initially marketed as completely fanless, Zalman understand what a slow-spinning, quiet fan does for the unit's performance, so they've created a factory-supported unit that sits on top, looks pretty damn good and does the required job.
The Korean cooling vendor look set to add the component to their Resorator 1 Plus component line-up pretty soon. Hit their website for more details.
