Raising the resolution but keeping the image-quality settings the same as the mid-range testing, we see that Radeon HD 4850 continues to spank the previous-generation HD 3870/3850 cards and keep some sort of parity with the BFG GeForce 9800 GTX.
As you would expect, the GeForce GTX 280 and GX2 are way ahead, but it's heartening to see single-GPU HD 4850 get somewhere near the dual-GPU Radeon HD 3870 X2's performance; the HD 4850 is practically half the cost.
