Gaming performance is pretty close, you would have to agree, and going by that alone, I would say that Radeon VII is a fine bet at WQHD.

However, it is not always that simple to draw fully-informed conclusions. Taking a look at the system power consumption shows Radeon VII use 45 more watts. No deal-breaker in the big scheme of things.

What's more worrisome is the noise profile, where the Radeon is much louder. Decibels are expressed in a logarithmic scale, so VII's performance is, in my opinion, poor, compared to the more refined RTX 2080 FE.

To give you some idea of real-world use, Radeon VII, housed inside the be quiet! Dark Base 700 chassis, can be clearly heard from 25 feet away when under the pump. The RTX 2080 FE, meanwhile, cannot be readily heard at 10 feet.
