Introduction
Good things come in some packages is perhaps one of Shuttle's taglines. Every company seems to have one, and in Shuttle's case it would be pertinent. At a wild guess, there must be more than 10 different Shuttle SFF platforms currently circulating around the homes and offices of astute buyers everywhere. The breakthrough, if you want to call it that, came when Shuttle incorporated a dedicated AGP slot into the shoe box XPCs. That opened to way for miniaturisation of almost every chipset released for both Intel and AMD over the past couple of years.
Some
cubes have focused on performance before a wide, broad range of
features. Others have tried to meld everything into one package.
On-board video has oft been lambasted as a provider of poor 3D
performance, but let's remember that not every potential buyer needs
super-fast graphics speed. In view of this, Shuttle has a few XPCs for
Intel's Socket-478 CPUs. Some focus on pure grunt whilst others try to
offer a more balanced package. The unimaginatively named SB62G2 is one
