It was way back in February when 3D Realms boss Scott Miller confirmed that the classic first person shooter, Duke Nukem 3D, was being revamped and released on the Xbox live arcade and now it's believed that it could be on the verge of being unleashed.

Joystiq has been sent two pictures that appear to prove that Duke Nukem 3D is indeed just around the corner and with E3 approaching we've got a sneaky suspicion that if what we see is true then it could well be released next week on the Xbox live arcade. Xbox live Wednesday action anyone?

Of course anyone can photoshop a simple picture, but we can live in hope!

The new version will apparently include achievement points, Xbox live score-board, online multiplayer and co-operative game modes.
