Third person mech action hits the console jockeys
Ubisoft have announced they’ll be releasing War World on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 later this summer from developer Third Wave Games.Now if War World sounds a tad familiar, that’ll be because we covered the game way back in 2005 when it was released for download on the PC and I have to admit that it was great for a quick blast and even back then it looked superb. War World is a fast-paced third-person shooter that combines a unique blend of heart-pumping action and tactical gameplay which, claim Ubisoft, will introduce an entirely new genre to Xbox LIVE Arcade.
Click for larger imageComplete with next-gen visual effects and robust (surely that should be ‘robot’?) gameplay, War World throws players directly into combat on the battlefield of a war-torn planet. You get to control one of 10 different Mechanoids, each with special abilities, and then wreak havoc throughout the 100-level single-player campaign. But the fun doesn’t stop there as you of course can take on everyone else in the multiplayer game available through Xbox LIVE.
