Wheelman for next-gen
Midway Games are currently in development with 'The Wheelman', a Vin Diesel film from MTV films and Paramount pictures. Van Diesel has apparently signed his name to both the film, and the game.
Although Midway have not officially announced the title, reports suggest that the film and game will be released simultaneously in 2007 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
According to Coming Soon.net, "Wheelman is an action-adventure title about an expert driver who comes out of retirement to protect a woman from his past. The video game's story will be a prequel to the film, with some crossover between the two.The budget for the game is expected to be $15 million."
An official at Midway games told us "no official announcement has been made."
In October 2005, Midway issued a press release revealing that they have strategically teamed up with MTV to jointly sell in-game advertising and collaborate on soundtrack development for three upcoming games. Therefore it makes sense that MTV Networks will provide the soundtrack to 'Wheelman'.
