Cycling, javelin, hammer and more coming this summer.
Hamburg-based dtp entertainment has announced that Summer Athletics will be released in summer 2008 for Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and PC.Players can expect a number of disciplines from a variety of summer sports, 25 in total, including sprinting, hurdles, cycling, archery, javelin, hammer throw, and swimming.
Four different difficulty levels span across two gaming modes, arcade and career, and you may be glad to hear they'll also be a customisation editor. Great, we can make ourselves look like Fatima Whitbread.
The press release sounds very German. "The game will feature a character editor, lifelike 3D graphics, realistic athlete animations, and an impressive stadium atmosphere with the flair of live competitions. Summer Athletics will be action-packed multi-player fun for the entire family. The intuitive controls are individually tailored for each discipline and platform, in order to bring the best game-play experience to the player."
Bet it isn't better than Daley Thompson's Decathlon.
