Get set for more heavy jammin' sessions!

Other than the new multiplayer modes, there’s a new practise mode, where you can fluff up a song as much as you like without failing it, giving you a chance to unwind you fingers around that solo without fear of having the crowd boo you off. The difficulty for each player is adjustable now too, so you can have handicap matches if you wish, meaning you won’t get bored of playing the same song over again on easier settings as you break in a Guitar Hero newbie… you can just play on a more challenging level than your partner.

At the moment, there’s no news of other songs as Red Octane are hard at work getting more songs into the game. In fact, if you’re part of an upcoming band, you can enter the competition to get your song onto Guitar Hero 2! Check out the competition rules here. The mechanic for the co-op modes is all there and working… add in the new characters and backdrops and you’d have to be a lover of Classic FM to not want to get your hands on Guitar Hero 2 as soon as possible. With a US launch date slated for November 2006, we’ll not have long to wait.

Rock on, Red Octane dudes!
