More game modes and more action
Gameplay is split into 6 distinct modes, including chase, heli, collect and on-foot sections and you’ll find yourself up against 6 different gangs from tough as steel escaped convicts and Italian mobsters through to street-wise punks and shapely killer Vixens. With each section is set over up to 20 km of road, Pursuit Force is set to always offer something new, rather than just a different track around the same old city and the sense of speed when you scream along at over 150mph is really very good indeed. Car handling is well modelled too, with trucks feeling sluggish and heavy and bikes feeling nimble and lightning fast… There’s even bits where the car veers all over the place as you wrestle a perp for control as you scream along.
Given that I’ve been playing the game for the last few hours, I’, still finding something new each time and a new way of taking on a mission I was abysmal at the first time around. The leaping from car to car is a real tactical bonus as you can easily hop from a shattered wreck to a spanky new motor to get back on the road and take out the bad guys. With this much variety in the gameplay, there looks like a hell of a lot here for the gamer who wants a bit more action and fun from their racers...
Pursuit Force is out for the PSP on 18th November.
