What we're looking forward to
With over 80 games currently in development for PlayStation Vita, we're going to be spoilt for choice when the handheld launches in February 2012.
With so many options available, which games are on your must-buy list for launch day? Struggling to decide?
Check out our five most-hotly-anticipated titles
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
As a member of one of PlayStation's biggest and best franchises, Uncharted: Golden Abyss is likely to set a benchmark for the action-adventure genre on Vita. It looks incredible on the 5in OLED screen, and the touch-screen functionality should lend itself very nicely to Nathan Drake's platform-hopping skills.
Tapping on the screen to climb up a ledge, or using the gyroscope function to swing from a rope are just two ways that players will be able to perform context-sensitive actions. Dense jungles, slick animation and a compelling narrative are all promised when Uncharted: Golden Abyss arrives as one of Vita's premier launch titles. If it's even half as good as Uncharted 3, we're in for a real treat.
LittleBigPlanet
The charm of the customisable Sackboy characters in Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet and the creativity that goes into the level design are just a couple of reasons why we're looking forward to this next iteration of the platform-puzzler. This will be a brand-new version specifically for Vita, and the touch-screen controls should add a new dimension to the 2D platforming gameplay, as well as make level creation more fun and intuitive.
Once again, the 'Create and Share' theme of the LBP franchise will make a return, and players will be able to create levels – even using Vita's camera to help create unique objects – and then share them online with the community.
