The first heat
As it was, everyone rolled up on time and the first matches kicked off just after 11am with PPHS, Pulse, SuperBreasts and sicK! fighting it out over the course of three rounds on de_dust, de_cbble and de_nuke.
After the first round, PPHS had handed Pulse their collective bums with a 22-8 domination while sicK! had comfortably beaten SuperBreasts 19-11. It looked like PPHS would walk it, but it might just have been Pulse were having an off day for their first match.
This was proved to be true when Pulse, obviously out to reclaim their honour after their first match came back and wiped the floor with SuperBreasts in a 22-8 repetition of the scoreline against PPHS in the first round. sicK! showed some consistency though by only conceding 2 less than their first round and beating PPHS, the first round top scorers in a fraught 17-13 win.
That left it wide open for the crucial first round with everything to play for. SuperBreasts were pretty much out of the picture leaving the other three to worry about getting a place for that evening’s semis. PPHS cruised in with a comfortable 17-13 win over SuperBreasts who seemed to rally themselves for the last match and play better than they had all day, despite the fact that they were out due to their two losses in their previous matches. Pulse remained on form with their last heat match and waltzed home with a 22-8 owning of sicK! which meant that along with PPHS, Pulse were into the semis.
