The ultimate car could be yours for $500,000

There's cool cars, there's super-cool cars, there's Michael Knight's KITT, and then there's Tim Burton's Batmobile.

Ever since the car appeared on screen in 1989's Batman, we've been in love with it. Even Batman Begins' Tumbler can't change our opinion; Tim Burton's 1989 Batmobile is the ultimate car.

Fortunately, there's one for sale on eBay, and believe you me, it still looks entirely kick ass some 18 years later.

The Batmobile, located in Fayetteville, AR, United States, is being auctioned on eBay by a seller going by the name of maguire1229. It's one of five Batmobiles created for the 1989 movie, and measures 20 feet long and 8 feet wide.

There's a Chevrolet 350 engine powering the beast and seeing as Batman used the car with no doors, you don't get any either. You'll need to get in via the open-top canopy. According to the eBay description, the Batmobile has only done 54 miles, we're guessing there's a problem with the Bat-dials.

Just imagine going down the M6 in one of these, oh the joy. Nonetheless, we feel we should warn any potential buyers not to stand next to the car and say "shields" - that won't impress your friends. Furthermore, don't stand in the cars path whilst it's hurtling along at break-neck speeds, the "stop" command only works for Batman himself.

Head on over to the eBay auction page for further images, and of course, to place your bid.

Awesome, dont know if i would buy it, but id love a go at driving it :D
It would need to be bundled with a Batsuit, then I'd be interested.

Seriously cool though, I would totally make a bid if I had 500,000 lying around.

My Dad knew the guy who built the Batmobile but I'm not sure whether it was this version or the Christian Bale one. The latter, I think…
Oh man, I'd love to squander money on such things.
