PRESS RELEASE

MiTAC adds compatibility with new software update

London, UK - May 4th 2016 - MiTAC adds compatibility with Strava Live Segments in the new V4.4 software update for Mio™ Cyclo series, which is live as of today. Cyclists using a Cyclo 310, 315, 500 or 505 with a Premium subscription to this popular app can now easily find and ride the Strava Live Segments, and share their records and performances on Strava, using MioShare™. To promote their partnership, Mio and Strava offer a free 60-day trial to Strava Premium, so new users can experience the Live Segments.

Strava is the social network for athletes, consisting of a global community of millions of runners, cyclists and triathletes, united by the camaraderie of sport. The Strava website and mobile apps bring athletes together from all walks of life and inspire them to unlock their potential – both as individuals and as communities.  Thanks to V4.4 software update, all Cyclo 310, 315, 500 and 505 users can now find and ride Strava Live Segments on their device.

Easy integration

Finding and riding the Strava Live Segments is easy: the user synchronises their MioShare account with Strava and then simply selects one or more Segments on the Strava website. MioShare will then export the selected Segments to their Cyclo. The Cyclo will alert the user with a signal when they approach the Segment.  Of course it’s also possible to just search for the Segments on the Cyclo, directly from the menu. And results and performances can be shared on Strava through the MioShare account.

Free of charge and available as of today

All these great new features are now available for the Cyclo 310, 500, 315 and 505. The Cyclo 315 and 505 devices also get an update of the crankset and cassette values for the Shimano XTR M9050 Di2 system.

“We’ve seen that Strava Live Segments are a powerful tool for motivation when you’re out riding,” said David Lorsch, VP Strategy & Business Development at Strava. “We’re excited to see Mio bring Strava Live Segments to users of Mio Cyclo 310 and 500 series.”

Harold Cobben, Sales Director Europe B2C at Mio says: “We’re very excited about our cooperation with Strava. Compatibility with the innovative Strava Live Segments is an absolute must for every cycling enthusiast. The fact that you can now break Segment records directly from your Mio Cyclo 310 series and 500 series is the start of a strong partnership.”

The update is now available for Cyclo 310, 500, 315 and 505 users. There is an update scheduled for Cyclo 200 and a map update for all devices for later this year, but the date is not known yet.

To claim the 60-day Premium trial, users simply need to click on the link under “news” in MioShare. Anyone who hasn’t used Strava Premium before and is not currently a member can get started here with a 60-day free Premium trial.
