PRESS RELEASE

Your new eyewitness on the road now has 1080p recording as standard, lifetime safety camera alerts and easy touch-screen capability

London - 07/07/2014 - MiTAC Europe today launches the Mio MiVue 500 series, a brand new range of six dash cams which brings a host of new features to drivers across the UK. Acting as your personal eyewitness on the road, the new MiVue range represents Mio's most advanced set of in-vehicle digital video recorders yet.

The new MiVue range comprises six new devices (MiVue 508, 518, 528, 538, 538 Deluxe and 568 Touch) to cater for all drivers and budgets, with Full HD 1080p video recording as standard across the whole range, and advanced lenses which let more light in - resulting in brighter, clearer footage in any conditions. The higher end models in the range also include great value added features such as lifetime safety camera alerts, integrated GPS, a parking mode and an 8GB memory card.

When fitted to any car's dashboard, a Mio MiVue device provides comprehensive data of events on the road, helping to boost safety and security of the driver, and providing Full HD video evidence of any incidents on the road. Wide angle lenses ensure the full width of the road is covered, while a 3-axis G-sensor records the direction and force, including impact, turns and acceleration. And thanks to the integrated parking mode, you're also able to record any activity when you are not in your car, offering protection for your car when you are not around*. The rotating mount ensures you're able to record in any direction, should the situation arise.

Every MiVue device can also be switched to photo mode, with a detachable camera to collect any close-up evidence of accidents. They also include the Windows and Mac compatible MiVue Manager desktop application, which allows video and image files to be shared on social networks such as Facebook and YouTube. If desired, MiVue devices can also be used to capture footage of any particularly scenic routes or memorable journeys.

Advanced models in the range (MiVue 518, 538, 538 Deluxe and 568 Touch) add integrated, high-sensitivity GPS tracking, which allows drivers to track information on location, speed and direction in the video recording. When the video is being played back, this information can be viewed in Google MapsTM. The MiVue 538 Deluxe and MiVue 568 Touch then add safety camera alerts, with free monthly updates for the lifetime of the device, so you always know where to drive extra carefully. The top-of-the-range MiVue 568 Touch has a large, stylish 2.5" touch screen for greater ease and convenience of control.

Greg Gilbert, Country Director UK and Ireland, MiTAC Europe, said: "The popularity of dash cams is soaring as drivers look for more ways to enhance safety, security and recourse in the event of any accidents on the road. The new MiVue range, with Full HD recording as standard and high quality lenses for any light conditions, offers drivers the highest quality in-car video recordings, with a device to suit everyone. The MiVue 500 series is your eyewitness on the road, and sets the new standard for dash cams."
